Synod 2022-2023

An invitation by Pope Francis to discuss what's important to the church. He wants to know what your dreams are for the Catholic Church in the future,
He wants to know what you, personally, have to say. He has put into motion all the energy of the Vatican and called upon every diocese and parish church in the world to set up listening sessions to hear from real people: you, the people of God. The method for this global conversation is called a synod.
In these listening sessions, we want to involve everyone, young and old, in every role and ministry, and most especially those who are not active, While our conversations will be guided by select questions, nothing is off limits. If it's on your heart: express it. You will not be judge. We promise. Your comments and identity will remain anonymous. Once the listening sessions are completed, your thoughts and ideas are then brought to the Bishops and Pope, and they will then discuss what is truly on our hearts and minds, and what we desire for the Church. SYNOD PRAYER 

for the

ARCHDIOCESE of Paterson

We stand before You, Holy Spirit,

as we gather together in Your name.

With You alone to guide us,
make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go
and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful;
do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the
wrong path
nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity
so that we may journey together
to eternal life
and not stray from the way of truth
and what is right.
All this we ask of You,
who are at work in every place and time,
in the communion of the
Father and the Son,
forever and ever. Amen.
